How To Train ANY Character in Uma Musume Pretty Derby
Training begins with understanding each primary stat and how to buff it. I recommend starting with levelling up Support Cards, as these help with training goals and succession, allowing characters to gain more stats and overcome difficult races.
Next, check the races in advance for your primary runners. Some characters will end up participating in races they’re not typically equipped for, such as mild runners enlisting in medium races. Knowing this in advance allows you to spend time building their stamina.
Card Loadout Per Race
Each race has an average numerical requirement for a runner to be in for a chance at victory. This average comes from their stats and the card loadout per race. For the time being, you don’t need to focus your points into Wit as this isn’t as crucial in the early game.
- Sprint and Mile Races
- Speed: 900+
- Stamina: ~250-350
- Power: 600+
- Wit: ~300
- Medium Races
- Speed: 800+
- Stamina: 450+
- Power: 550+
- Wit: ~300
- Long Races
- Speed: 700+
- Stamina: 600+
- Power: 450+
- Wit: ~300
How To Choose Cards Per Race
I recommend beginning your loadout with x4 Speed Cards for each distance type. Then, altering the final two cards based on the race type and which stat is most intensive on the character.
As a note, Stamina Recovery cards are excellent for mid and long races!
- Sprint and Mile Races: x4 Speed, x2 Strength
- Medium Races: x4 Speed, x1 Strength, x1 Stamina
- Long Races: x4 Speed, x2 Stamina
