How To Get The Golden Gubby in Gubby Tower Defense

The Golden Gubby is a quest reward unit for completing the Homeless Conqueror questline. To do this, beat Medium Mode solo without the aid of Eco and Advanced Towers. Easier said than done since at wave 35 when the Duke Gubby boss spawns, your succession is entirely RNG-based…

The Duke Gubby has a lot of HP, conjures more fighters, and routinely stuns your towers. The first two are easy enough to handle if you have a well-equipped team, but his stuns will disable your team, and if he performs them frequently enough, you’ll struggle to beat him.

Defeating Duke Gubby – How To Win

I recommend first having the following Gubbys on your team:

  • Trickshot Gubby – 250$ to buy
  • Pancake Gubby – 300$ to buy
  • Swubby – 800$ to buy
  • Fat Gubby – 1,000$ to buy
  • Mafia Gubby – 1,400$ to buy

Wave 1-20

Set the game to autoskip to speed up the initial grind. Begin by placing two Swubbys in either corner of the blue loop and level them up to 3. After this, focus on placing x3 Mafia Gubbys on the outskirts of the red loop and level them up to 3 as well.

Wave 20-30

I recommend maxing your Mafia units first, as these will remain here for the rest of the game. Next, add x4 Fat Gubbys inside the blue square alongside your Swubbys. Don’t level them up yet, and instead focus on maxing out your Swubby levels.

Add x4 Trickshot Gubbys along the connecting path between the red and blue (near the first loop), setting their target to strong. At the same time, add Pancake Gubbys along the path near the first loop intersection.

At this point, you should max any units you haven’t already and prepare for deployment spam.

Wave 30-35

It all comes down to the final waves. When the Duke Gubby spawns, you’ll want to act quickly as soon as all enemy units leave the range of the Gubbys within the first loop. Once outside of the Swubby and Fat Gubby range, sell all units and relocate them with the Mafia units and max them again. Repeat this for other units that the Duke exits the range of.

If you’re lucky, you’ll beat the Duke Gubby, but it all comes down to RNG since his stun move will disable your units in range. I recommend flooding as many units into the final loop as possible and levelling them up.

Good luck!
