Find out how to obtain and wield the Type Soul Vow of Potential in this complete guide covering its ability, and how it relates to the For Those Who Know Emblem…

Start playing Type Soul via Roblox. For more on the Vows, check out my complete Vows Guide, covering what they do and how to get them.

Type Soul Vow of Potential Obtainment

The Vow of Potential is obtained via the Bamboo Hat Man NPC. This NPC resides in Ring 3 of Hell, nestled within the maze.

To get the Vow of Potential, the Bamboo Hat Man will challenge the player to a fight if they offer him a Stream of Reiatsu. If the player wins, the NPC with adorn them with a random Vow, of which there are 4 in total.

Vow of Potential Uses

When combat tagged, the Vow of Potential player begins with a 15% debuff to all stats. However, when taking damage, dealing damage, parrying, and perfect dodging, the debuff will gradually convert into a +10% buff.

The VoP player’s aura and battle music will change when this Vow is in effect to help gauge their current progression. The music becomes loud when maxed, and their intense aura takes after the player’s eye colour.

All status effects negate when out of combat, and so, the Vow of Potential needs re-initiating with another combat tag to use.

For Those Who Know Emblem

Aside from the -15% debuff to the +10% buff to all stats, the Vow of Potential is a key crafting element needed for the For Those Who Know Emblem.

To craft, you must visit the Library in Hell and speak with the Crafting NPC to open the workbench. The recipe for the For Those Who Know Emblem is as follows:

  • Vow of Sacrifice / X / Vow of Fist
  • X / Creed Emblem / X
  • Vow of Potential / X / Vow of Luck

X = Blank.

This Emblem enhances the Vow of Sacrifice, allowing the conjured clone to have no cooldown between attacks, meaning it can combo stack without reaching a limit. This does not mean the player has no attack cooldowns. I recommend reading the FTWK Emblem guide I linked if you’re confused, as I explain it in more detail there.
