The Anime Vanguards Dio is truly a meta! With powerful abilities and different evolutions, he is a must-have. We’ll explain how to get him and what you need to evolve him.

Anime Vanguards Dio
Dio, known in-game as God, takes inspiration from Dio Brando from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. From update 9, he is the only secret unit available.
For his abilities, he has Reality Rewrite. With this, God has a menu that allows the player to select a status effect to apply on hit. Whenever this unit attacks an enemy inflicted with a status effect, it buffs damage by 50% for 10 seconds, but this can’t stack.
How to Obtain
There are two ways to get this meta unit for yourself. Firstly, you can summon him from the limited-time Anniversary Banner. Due to how rare he is, you only have a 0.02% chance of obtaining him.
You also have the chance to get him as a drop from any act of the Anniversary Dungeon. This also gives you a 0.02% chance, so count yourself lucky if you do manage to obtain him!
God (Standless)
You can evolve God into God (Standless) with the following items:
- x1 God’s Journal
- x25 Green Essence
- x20 Blue Essence
- x20 Red Essence
- x20 Pink Essence
- x20 Purple Essence
- x20 Yellow Essence
- x3 Rainbow Essence
- 25,000 Gold
- 5,000 Takedowns
God (Standless) keeps the Reality Rewrite ability, but gains two more:
- Your Reality is Mine!
- On takedown, he spawns the defeated enemy as a summon with 50% of this unit’s damage, with a 2-second cooldown, and grants immunity to status debuffs.
- It Was Me!
- When this unit is placed or swapped in, time stops all enemies on the map for 10 seconds. However, this can only occur 3 times.
God (Above Heaven)
Once you obtain God (Standless), you can also get God (Above Heaven). Luckily, you don’t need to evolve him again. Remember the Reality Rewrite ability God (Standless) has? Use this when you place him in battle, and he will become God (Above Heaven). This unit gets three new abilities:
- Above Heaven
- When this is activated, it increases damage by 50% for 90 seconds.
- The One Above
- On takedown, it reduces the cooldown of Above Heaven by 0.2 seconds and grants immunity to status effects.
- Rewrite the Heavens
- When this unit is swapped in, it increases damage by 50% for 60 seconds.
