Whilst most players want to live out their sugoi Japanese high school fantasy, others prefer to roughhouse and become popular through brute strength. Gakuran Combat Tier List
My Tier is up to date as of July 9th, 2026.
S-TIER
- Wrestling
- A brutal combat style that relies on clashing, negating blocks, and slamming opponents. It’s flashy, strong, and fantastic, easily earning the top spot in my ranks.
- Hakari
- ALWAYS BET ON HAKARI! Gains ragdoll M2S, and an M2 3x DMG buff for 7 seconds when landing a full M1 combo, as well as a 15% guard piece (Block Chip DMG). This style is incredible for brute-forcing opponents and overwhelming them with raw strength.
A-TIER
- Capoeira
- Huge skillset that allows the user to ragdoll enemies, guardbreak, block chip, and perform actions quicker, thanks to a generous 25% dash cooldown shortening. Capoeira is the pinnacle of Gakuran combat, and a skillset many players aim to achieve.
B-TIER
- Boxing
- The main gimmick of this style is the uninterrupted IFrame M2S, making the player temporarily untouchable. Other than this, the other skills are pretty underwhelming and not as valuable as higher-tier styles.
- Muay Thai
- Gains a bunch of powerful benefits, such as Ragdoll M2S, +15% Posture DMG, +30% Block Chip DMG, and a 55% chance to Grapple Clash. Overall, very well balanced and deserving of the average tier, despite its lower rarity.
C-TIER
- Karate
- Requires a lot of skill to fully utilise, such as perfect blocking and increasing posture. Still, Karate is a very powerful combat sport if in trained hands.
- Slugger
- For an uncommon, this style is pretty resilient, offering decent benefits to let the wielder deal more damage and clash into grapples more frequently.
D-TIER
- Basic
- This primative style does have some benefits, but is pretty common and therefore easy to understand and overwhelm in combat. Most players aim to reroll for a different combat, as should you.
What Each Tier Means
- S: The most user-friendly and best combat to adopt. Those in this tier are the most fun and easiest to wield, giving their users a better advantage against their opponent regardless of their style match-up.
- A: Great choices if you don’t want to reroll your style and risk something worse. These pair nicely with most players and offer a great selection of combat benefits to give you the upper hand.
- B: You could take or leave those in this tier. They’re effective against some other styles, but not many. Overall, pretty average.
- C: Niche and situational styles that don’t have much to offer their wielder.
- D: The D-Tier reserves itself solely for the basic combat style. No fancy punches or skills, just raw knuckle action.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How does height work?
- You can reroll your height to better suit your fighting style preference. Taller players deal more damage and have more health and a wider hitbox, but are slower to throw attacks. Smaller players are quicker to throw attacks and have a smaller hitbox, but deal less damage and have less health. Somewhere in there is a happy medium.
- Does fighting earn anything?
- Not really, aside from proving you’re stronger than your opponent to the bystanding students watching the fight. Sometimes, when fighting, hitting an opponent will knock off their accessories, letting you pick up new wearables.
