Byeken is likely the hardest character to obtain in Update 6, and as a trade-off, she’s one of the strongest, and most broken, to enlist in your team. Use this guide to find the easiest way to obtain the Anime Vanguards Byeken unit, including her stats and evolution requirements.

Anime Vanguards Byeken Obtainment
Fortunately, Byekens’ obtainment is fairly straightforward, but it’s grind-heavy and slightly monotonous. To unlock Byeken, head to the play area and enter a chamber. Next, select Legend Stages followed by Shining Castle.
The fourth stage, EX, will show a ‘Favourite Drink’ secret item, with a 50% drop chance. If you select this item, it shows a pop-up of different characters. To unlock this item as a drop, you must defeat each unit listed as a boss from other Legend Stages. This includes:
- Future Sister
- Gear Boy
- Gleeful Disorder
- Lfelt
- Doorman
- NotGoodGuy
- Kazzy
- Brisket
After completing this quest-like challenge, you need to run the fourth Legend Stage (EX) and obtain the Favourite Drink item to unlock Byeken. I recommend taking friends with you into this Legend Stage, as it’s currently near impossible to solo.
Byeken Stats and Evolution
Byeken has a special ability, 236P. Anytime this unit is attacked or receives a status effect, it will perform a counter, totalling 20% of its overall damage. Similarly, for PVP only, Byeken reflects status effects onto attacking units, countering them entirely. This move won’t count as an attack during PVP.
Byeken (Ronin) Evolution Requirements
- x1 Eyepatch
- Obtained from the Favourite Drink Quest
- x40 Green Essence
- x30 Blue Essence
- x30 Red Essence
- x3 Rainbow Essence
- x30,000 Gold
- x5,000 Takedowns
Byeken (Ronin) retains the 236P ability from its base form and adopts two new abilities with its evolution.
Tethered: All attacks from this unit immediately follow up with Attack 5. Targeted enemies become Tethered, sharing 0.1% of the damage any Tethered enemy receives. All Tethered enemies slow down by 20%. Tethering only breaks after an enemy leaves this unit’s range.
Tatami Gesh: If a Tethered enemy dies within this unit’s range, the unit triggers Attack 1 where that enemy perished. For PVP only, Tatami Gesh works similarly, but the unit instead stuns enemies alongside Attack 1, lasting 10 seconds.
