A new Chainsaw Days short anime has been announced! In fact, if you love the Chainsaw Man franchise, then you have tons to look forward to this September. There are both a new movie and special anime projects lined up for release.
Firstly, the highly anticipated Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is set to premiere in Japanese theatres on September 19th. An IMAX version is hitting 61 locations across the country on the same day. A new poster featuring Denji alongside the Shark Fiend Beam has been revealed as well.
Ahead of the film’s debut, ABEMA is preparing a broadcast event on September 5th at 8:00 PM. The special program will be hosted by comedian Kendo Kobayashi. It will feature appearances from Denji’s voice actor Kikunosuke Toya, comedians Crystal Noda of Magical Lovely and Shogo from Tokyo Hoteison, freelance announcer Neki Matsuzawa, and Vivian Murakawa from the idol group CANDY TUNE.
The show will also offer behind-the-scenes content from MAPPA, including a rare look inside the studio. Commentary will be from Kenshi Yonezu, who is handling both the opening and ending themes for the new movie.
So, let’s talk about the new Chainsaw Days short anime they announced
Right after the broadcast ends at 9:00 PM, ABEMA will be exclusively streaming the Chainsaw Man Omnibus. It’s a digest version that re-edits all 12 episodes of the original TV anime into one special.
This Omnibus will also include Chainsaw Biyori or Chainsaw Days. It’s a new animated short based on the manga’s bonus chapters, which were included at the end of the manga volumes. While ABEMA viewers get first access on September 5th, the Omnibus will expand to other streaming platforms from September 12th.
Meanwhile, international releases for the Reze Arc movie begin on September 24th. U.S. theatres are scheduled to premiere it on October 29th, 2025. Head over to the official website to get more info.
