The Problem With The AI GK

The Goalkeeper AI in Goalbound is a little too good, not giving players much wiggle room when scoring against it. Even with moves available, it’s hard to score in Goalbound and players, inexperienced and practised alike, struggle against its AI.

The Goalkeeper AI seems trained on the ball, often moving quicker than players and teleporting to the ball to prevent goals with rapid precision. But most players aren’t aware that their shooting style is what prevents them from besting the Goalkeeper. Let’s get into it!

How To Score Against the AI Goalkeeper in Goalbound

  • Normal Shots
    • Performing Curve Shots against the Goalkeeper is one of the easiest ways to score Goals. To do a Curve Shot, hold Shot whilst pressing A or D.
    • If you’re leaning on the left side, press D to turn.
    • If you’re leaning on the right side, press A to turn.
    • The trick to scoring is aiming for the middle or opposite side of your curve on the goal. Otherwise, you’ll hit the wall or the GK will capture the ball.
  • Jump Shots
    • Leap into the air with the ball and press shoot. It’s that simple! Simply aim inside the net where you want the ball to travel.
  • Move Shots
    • Get close enough to the Goalkeeper so that he tracks your movements, but not close enough to tempt him out of the net/box.
    • Perform your move shot, aiming for the opposite corner of where the Goalkeeper is holding. He will sometimes stop the ball, but this remains one of the easier ways to score using Moves.
  • Trick Shots
    • Head into the box and perform fakeouts by tapping the ball ahead, tempting the Goalkeeper to snatch it. When he’s near, quickly regain control of the ball and shoot into the net, aiming for the opposite corner
    • This method isn’t easy, and he often prevents goals if you’re not quicker than him when regaining the ball before the shot
