With new Powers constantly taking the title of meta, as well as upgrades available, is Ink Game Pay to Win? I’ll give you my thoughts and explain why (and why not).

Ink Game is available to play on Roblox. If you want to find out about some ways to give yourself a boost in the games, we have an Ink Game Powers Guide and an Ink Game Upgrades Guide.

Is Ink Game Pay To Win?

In short, yes, and that comes down to Powers, Gamepasses, and Upgrades.

Powers and Purchasing Spins

Many want to get their hands on new meta Powers when they release. As Power Spins can be hard to come by, many resort to Robux, which costs real money to purchase. Rarer Powers tend to be best, so even if you have Power Rolls, you’ll likely need to use a lot of them to get the meta Power. Which again resorts to needing Robux for Power Spins.

For the people who don’t want to spend Robux, which is very common, this gives a disadvantage. They’re likely to have no Powers, or only a common one. Therefore, those with better Powers are likely to target others and eliminate them, or simply ragebait them.

Don’t get me wrong, Ink Game is all about eliminating opponents, but it does give an unfair advantage if you don’t want to spend Robux on progressing. Besides, it doesn’t make it as satisfying when you do win.

Gamepasses

There are a variety of Gamepasses available. With some tailored to specific games, such as more pull strength in Tug of War. Or, there’s the VIP, which gives cosmetic bonuses alongside an increase in XP, Luck, and Won. This is a costly 645 Robux, and although not important to have, those increases do give players an advantage.

Upgrades

You can upgrade your strength, speed, and Won income. These upgrades cost in-game Won, which means no Robux… until you see the cost of upgrades. These can cost over 200 million Won, so upgrading can take a while if you need to save up.

Of course, you can purchase Won with Robux, which then contributes to upgrades… see my point? If you don’t purchase Won to upgrade, you won’t have as much power as players who are maxed out, and these upgrades can become expensive, especially when using Robux.

Making It Not Pay To Win

So yes, although in one sense Ink Game is pay-to-win, with players using Robux for multiple Power Spins to get meta Powers and purchasing Won for upgrades, there is a solution which doesn’t require Robux… sort of.

Power-free servers disable Powers. Although those with upgrades can still play, you won’t have people using Powers and targeting or ragebaiting you. I’m sure others are tired of people with Powers targeting them for no reason. Yes, I’m looking at the person I carried through Red Light Green Light, only for them to use the Player 120 Power on me to throw me to get eliminated… totally not holding a grudge.
