After bringing the massive Kaiju fights to mobile, KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME has now launched on Steam. It’s a full adaptation of the Shonen Jump+ hit, turning the anime and manga into a turn-based strategy game.
The battles of the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force against city-flattening monsters
You’ll be lining up your team’s skills, waiting for that moment when the Kaiju’s core is exposed. As soon as it’s exposed, you’ll pull off ultimate moves animated in 3D.
If you’re familiar with Kafka Hibino’s transformation or Soshiro Hoshina’s blade work, you already know what the game has to offer.
Alongside the anime’s retelling, KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME also has new original storylines and extra side tales. If you’ve never read or watched Kaiju No. 8 before, there’s even a Memories section that summarises the story so far.
With the game’s turn-based combat, you get to control a four-person squad. Characters are paired up as battle partners. So, whoever you line up together will coordinate follow-up attacks whenever you expose a kaiju’s core.
KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME is fully voice-acted
In the game, you’ll hear Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka, Asami Seto as Mina, Wataru Katoh as Reno, Fairouz Ai as Kikoru, Kengo Kawanishi as Hoshina, and Tessyo Genda as Isao. With such talent onboard, the game sure feels more immersive.
The game recently celebrated 5 million accounts created with a reward drop. Events are also ongoing, including a Chapter 4 release event with a limited Assault Rifle made specifically for support characters.
If you’re a fan of the manga and the anime like me, you should definitely check it out. Head over to Steam and grab the game!
