A new One Piece Heroines anime has been announced! It was One Piece Day 2025 this weekend, and there were multiple announcements that will make any fan of the franchise jump for joy. The biggest one, however, is this new anime.

What’s the scoop?

One Piece Day 2025 was held on August 9th and 10th at Tokyo Big Sight. During the Egghead Saga Voice Actors Special Stage Event on August 10th, the voice cast announced that the One Piece novel series Heroines is getting an anime adaptation.

The announcement was accompanied by the first visual, showing Nami and Robin in a distinct art style. The anime will bring side stories of the women in One Piece into focus.

The project adapts the light novel series written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa, which began publication under Shueisha’s Jump J-Books in June 2021.

Initially serialized as short stories in One Piece Magazine, the tales were later compiled into two light novels. Both were released in English by VIZ Media.

The first volume features stories about Nami, Robin, Vivi, and Perona, while the second includes chapters on Hancock, Tashigi, Reiju, and Uta.

Haruka Kamatani, known for One Piece in Love, is directing the project. Takashi Kojima, who previously worked on Flip Flappers, is handling character designs. And Momoka Toyoda, writer of One Piece Fan Letter, is the scriptwriter.

There’s other exciting stuff happening, too!

Meanwhile, Netflix and WIT Studio are working on a remake of Eiichiro Oda’s series with a fresh visual style. Netflix also dropped the first look for Season 2 of the live-action adaptation during One Piece Day 2025. They’ve also confirmed that a third season is on the way.

As of now, no release date has been confirmed. To know about everything that happened during the event, watch the live stream on YouTube.
