Takopi’s Original Sin has been one of 2024’s most talked-about manga and one of 2025’s most popular anime series. And now, we’ve another great news! The manga’s creator Taizan 5 is preparing to return with something entirely different. It’s a one-shot manga titled Fighting Girls.
Taizan 5 is a mangaka known for weaving narratives around difficult subjects such as bullying, domestic abuse, and depression. Takopi’s Original Sin, their biggest hit to date, also deals with strong elements of tragedy. Its heavy subject matter and emotional intensity established Taizan 5’s reputation.
When is the New One-Shot Manga Fighting Girls Coming Out?
The new one-shot manga Fighting Girls is coming out on August 18th, 2025. The announcement was made on August 12th through Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+.
It also marks the first entry in their upcoming Special One-Shot Project. The project will run from August 18th to 24th, delivering a new standalone work each day from a different creator.
Fighting Girls arrives in the wake of Takopi’s Original Sin’s immense success. It was serialized from December 2021 to March 2022 and later adapted into a six-episode anime by Enishiya.
Taizan 5’s other titles include The Ichinose Family’s Deadly Sins, Hanareta Futari, Hero Complex, and Kiss shitai Otoko. Given that history, expectations for Fighting Girls are quite high.
Meanwhile, the Special One-Shot Project is a notable moment for Shonen Jump+
Its week-long schedule features seven entirely original works. Following Fighting Girls on August 18th, Mizu Asato will release Hakuoka Koukou Roshon Sumo-bu on August 19th. Then, Akira Shimomoto’s Hero Suits wa Araenai arrives on August 20th.
Himehime no Aruhi by Mapollo3, SLAPPY by Yujiro Koyama, Tsukisome no Bansho by Akari Kajimoto and Mermaid! Ningyo-chan by Fukushima Teppei will drop on August 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th, respectively.
