OZ Re:write has officially been released in Japan for Android and iOS devices. The anime, isekai-like game has 2D graphics ranging from adorable SD models to life-sized illustrations. An open beta test was conducted in February-March 2025.

What’s the story in OZ Re:write?

It begins with ANOTHER, a world that was originally created by OZ. You have to play the game to know if it’s the famous Wizard of Oz. After the mysterious disappearance of OZ, that world starts collapsing, prompting a new founder to be summoned.

So, you take over as the new founder and rewrite the fairy tale world together with a set of well-known heroes, but with twists. You’ll find the mermaid princess obsessed with shojo manga. Meanwhile, Snow White is a student council president.

There are other characters like Dorothy, Liger, Zenoah, and Angel. Each of the characters is based on fairy tale motifs. But their personalities are built around modern civilisation influences, which makes them more relatable.

A key feature in OZ Re:write is Mirrorgram, which is more like an in-game social network. Through this, you can strengthen bonds with characters and may even receive personalised messages from them.

The battles in the game are carried out in a semi-automatic format. Skill combinations and formation effects can significantly influence your heroes’ performances.

The game comes with fully voiced acting (Japanese). Famous voice actors like Ikumi Hasegawa, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Akari Kito, Sakura Tange, and Yu Kobayashi have lent their voices to the game.

If you’re in Japan, you can check the game out on the Google Play Store. And if you’re not, you can still learn more about the game through their official website or official X account.
