TOHO animation dropped a new trailer for Trigun Stargaze during the New York Comic Con 2025. They confirmed that the anime will premiere in January 2026. The event also featured an early screening of the first two episodes, giving a glimpse of the final phase of the Trigun Stampede story.
What else did we see?
The trailer, visual, and character art revealed a familiar cast with a few changes. Chika Ayamori is joining the cast as Milly Thompson, while Ryūji Satō is replacing Junya Ikeda as Millions Knives.
Returning voice actors include Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede, Sakura Andō as Meryl Stryfe, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Nicholas D. Wolfwood. The supporting cast also sees Kōki Uchiyama as Legato Bluesummers, Ayumu Murase as Elendira the Crimsonnail, Ryūsei Nakao as William Conrad, and TARAKO as Zazie the Beast.
Crunchyroll also released an English-subtitled version of the trailer. They’ve confirmed that they will simulcast the series alongside its Japanese debut. Watch the Trigun Stargaze trailer here!
Where’s the story at?
Stargaze is set 2.5 years after the events of Trigun Stampede. It follows Vash the Stampede as he hides under the name Eriks after the catastrophic Lost JuLai tragedy. Meryl Stryfe, now working as a senior journalist, embarks on a search for Vash alongside her new partner Milly.
Nicholas D Wolfwood makes his return as their ally. Their investigation into a series of plant robberies hints that Millions Knives’s organisation might be active once again.
When Vash receives an SOS from a young girl named Jessica, he’s forced to confront his past to protect what remains of his world. But even as hope arrives in the form of a message from outer space inviting humanity to a new frontier, a one-winged angel’s return threatens to destroy it all.
