Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave in Japanese) has just dropped a new trailer for its upcoming season, which is Season 2. The anime will air in January 2026 and will be produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film.

The video highlights the long-awaited Leaders’ Meeting, bringing together the commanders of the Demon Defense Force. You can see the full roster of squad leaders. There’s Konomi Tatara of the 1st Squad, Mira Kamiunten of the 2nd Squad, Belle Tsukiyono of the 3rd Squad, Yakumo Ezo of the 5th Squad.
Also, there’s Tenka Izumo of the 6th Squad, Kyouka Uzen of the 7th Squad, Varvara Pilipenko of the 8th Squad, Fubuki Azuma of the 9th Squad, and Ren Yamashiro, the Supreme Commander and leader of the 10th Squad.
The trailer also teases battle scenes involving Yuuki Wakura fighting alongside the 7th Squad, as well as members of the 6th Squad in action. Why don’t you watch it and see for yourself right here?
As you can see, plenty of characters are making their return from Season 1. But there are new voices this season as well. Ren Yamashiro gets her first proper lines in the anime, while Mira Kamiunten makes her debut with her voice reveal.

Chained Soldier is based on the manga written by Takahiro, the same creator behind Akame Ga Kill. The illustrations are by Yohei Takemura. The second season of the anime is being directed by Masafumi Tamura, with Keiya Nakano in charge of character design.
The first season was animated by Seven Arcs and directed by Junji Nishimura and Goro Kuji. It aired in early 2024 for 12 episodes. It focused on Yuuki’s reluctant partnership with Kyouka as they fought to defend humanity from Mato’s creatures.
