How To Make Powerful Parents in Uma Musume
Since this process isn’t linear, I’ll split the full guide into sections. Feel free to skip over headlines to get the information you need!
600 Run Strategy – Getting 9 Star Parents
The 600 Run Strategy is a coined term which means getting at least 600 into each of your Parent Umas’ main stats, minus Wit, as it isn’t as crucial. 600 is the minimum required for the Uma parent to roll higher stars on their Sparks. This allows their Uma descendant to inherit these favourable numbers, creating better racers with higher star value/ranks.
G1 Race Sparks
G1 Races allow an Uma to develop powerful white sparks, which are necessary for building a parent Uma. They’re not guaranteed and appear at random only if your parent wins the G1 Race.
I recommend your parent being one who is well balanced between mile, medium, and long races. Check out Gametoras‘ list of G1 races by year to plan accordingly.
When selecting year races, opt for Speed and Stamina builds primarily.
Selecting Your Deck
Support cards have a huge role in a parent’s overall ability to win races, which leads to them developing more Sparks to pass down through generations. I recommend building your deck around 2x Speed, 1x Power, 1x Stamina, and 2x Guts.
You may wonder why 2x Guts. Guts can be hard to train, and is more of an investment stat as it comes in handy later down the line for finishing runs.
Spark Odds
When you finish a career, the game will select a random trait and reroll it for new sparks. If you’re lucky, it will select one of your 600+ attributes and reroll its spark to achieve a 3-star rating. However, if you’re not so lucky, you may end up with a rerolled Wit. It’s all down to chance, good luck!
Note: at 600+, you have a 5% chance of getting a 3-star. At 1,100+, this increases to a 10% chance.
