Truthfully, ranking the characters, whilst fun, isn’t a verbatim way to play. Each character offers unique gameplay, and they’re not one-size-fits-all. That said, you’re here, and I’m excited to give you my thoughts in this Warden Character Tier List, ranking each, including their stats to give you an idea of general gameplay.

Let’s get into the good stuff!

What Each Tier Means

  • S: These are the BEST characters, capable of supporting themselves if playing solo, or carrying a team if running multiplayer. Their stats and skills are equipped for survival, helping players running these characters easily beat their high scores.
  • A: Solid alternatives to the top tier. Those here aren’t as versatile, but they bring great skills and stats to the table. Usually, there’s one or two snags that hold them back, be it synergy with teammates or lacklustre skill performance. Overall, great picks.
  • B: Nestled into the middle-tier, these average-performance characters are great to use, so long as you don’t have too many of them in the same team. Their skills and stats are decent, but can equally hold themselves back if not properly supported.
  • C: Second from the bottom, these early-game characters have decent utility, but aren’t as efficient as their next of kin in the higher tiers. They’re pretty rudimentary and early-game, but aren’t entirely useless.
  • D: These Characters are’t weak, but they’re not the most popular choice. They don’t suit common playstyles and have a very niche audience and situational chances to shine during campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I unlock new characters?
    • Typically, you need to complete some predetermined questlines to unlock new characters. From the lobby, press Characters and click through the ones you don’t have to see their requirements on the right.
  • Do pallets add any buffs?
    • No, these are purely cosmetics and ways to stand out against other players who run the same character as you.
  • What’s the difference between Hunter, Support, Lure, and Shield?
    • Hunter: Often more versed in combat, able to defeat infections quicker than other characters with naturally more serious damage.
    • Support: More of a team player, often debuffs enemies, such as visibly marking them for party players to see temporarily.
    • Lure: Helps corral the corrupted creatures in each area and detain them temporarily, giving other players easier access to the map.
    • Shield: Buffs other players but typically deals heart manipulation to increase defence and longevity of team players.
