Kaiju No. 8 has dropped a new trailer for Season 2. It previews the next story arc in the series. The production team has also dropped another trailer teasing the broader direction of the season.
Episode 19, which is the eighth episode of the second season, will officially kick off the Bungui-toge Subjugation Operation arc. The preview shows tensions within the Defence Force units as they prepare for The Battle of Bungui Pass.

If you missed Episode 18, let me give you a recap of what’s happened so far. Ichikawa Reno was chosen as the compatible user for Number 6, the most powerful and most dangerous monster weapon among the Defence Force’s arsenal.
Assigned to the 4th Unit at Matsumoto Base, Reno has shown a strong determination to grow stronger for the sake of protecting both Kafka and his teammates. His rise stirs conflicted emotions in Iharu Furuhashi, who struggles with seeing someone once considered a weakling surpass him.
Now, as you can see in the new Bungui Pass trailer, it leans into Iharu’s inner thoughts. So, whether he and Reno can overcome the monstrous threat waiting for them is something we’ll get to know in Episode 19. It’s titled ‘The Wall’ by the way.

The anime comes from Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, which ran in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ from July 2020 to July 2025. VIZ Media continues to handle the English release.
On the production side, Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya are directing under Production I.G., with Ichiro Okouchi writing the series composition.
Tetsuya Nishio serves as character designer and chief animation director and Mahiro Maeda is behind the kaiju designs. Shinji Kimura oversees the art direction, while Yuta Bandoh handles the score.
