Uma Racing Mechanics
Acceleration
Acceleration determines how fast a player is running. However, the quicker they run, the more stamina is consumed per second.
Stamina Management
Sustaining top speed during a race requires Stamina Management. To monitor this, keep the Sprint bar (yellow) on the white line when running. If you exceed it, the blue bar (stamina) will begin to drain, and you’ll lose speed.
Slipstream
Running behind another player will allow you to regain a small amount of Stamina.
Corner Recovery
In the corners or curves of a race, a minigame will appear where you must press space three times when the bar is in the red zone. You’ll regain Stamina depending on how many times you hit it.
- Corner Recovery [+++] with 3 timed correctly.
- Corner Recovery [++] with 2 timed correctly.
- Corner Recovery [+] with 1 timed correctly.
Movement Mechanics
Sprinting
Holding Shift or alternating between Q/E or M1/M2 will begin a Sprint. As you gain momentum, the yellow bar will rise. This bar determines the speed and cost of Stamina.
As mentioned, if the yellow bar exceeds the white bar, stamina will begin to drain from the blue bar. When empty, the player stops running to regain stamina.
Spurt
Trigger your Spurt using R. (Twice per race)
After triggering, the player briefly stops in their track for a split second before bursting forward with unparalleled momentum. Performing a Spurt drains all Stamina on use, but it is a risky game-changer, so it’s best used nearing the end of a race to try and overtake.
Starting Race
Your startup delay is determined by a keybashing minigame, where you press corresponding letters as the circle turns green. Your performance will determine your start:
- [Great] – No delay. (Complete all minigames)
- [Good] – Small delay. (Complete 3 minigames)
- [Normal] – Delay. (Complete 2 minigames)
- [Bad] Significant delay. (Complete 1 minigame)
- [Awful] Unable to accelerate for a moment. (Fail all minigames)
