From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman has dropped a new trailer and a teaser visual ahead of its return in July 2026. The second season will be broadcast starting in July 2026 across 24 TV Asahi affiliates nationwide, BS Asahi, and other networks.
The teaser visual shows Beryl Gardenant inside a moonlit dojo, gripping a wooden sword. Facing him is his father, Moldea Gardenant, setting up a familial confrontation that underlines the season’s theme of surpassing limits. The accompanying tagline reads To go beyond the strongest.
Meanwhile, the trailer expands on the same by showing slices of Beryl’s everyday life in the capital alongside his devoted students. It also shows Myui as she learns swordsmanship and begins to step further into the wider world. Watch it right here!
Passione and Hayabusa Films are producing From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman
Direction for the second season remains in the hands of Akio Kazumi, known for Loner Life in Another World. Series composition is by Kunihiko Okada, who has worked as a scriptwriter on The Eminence in Shadow.
Character designs and chief animation direction are by Satsuki Hayasaka of Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki fame. Music is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, recognized for his work on Fairy Tail. Additional staff include assistant directors Nozomu Koga and Masaru Kawashima. Also, the concept designers Suzume Shima and Rei Yumeno and art director Yasuki Yamashita.
The cast lineup includes Hiroaki Hirata as Beryl Gardenant, Nao Toyama as Aleucia Citrus, Hitomi Ueda as Surena Lysandera, and Yuki Hirose as Kurni Cruciel. It also includes Hinaki Yano as Vissel Habela, Arisa Nakata as Miui Freya, Chiwa Saito as Lucy Diamond, Kaito Ishikawa as Henblitz Draught, and Naoya Uchida as Moldea Gardenant.
