To start your fishing endeavours, visit the Tackle Bait store, located just off the docks of Lake Boullier. You’ll find this store if you follow the train tracks towards the Outlaw Camp from Ridge B. County.
A Rod costs 150 Moola, and Bait costs 15 per. Alright, now onto the fun stuff.
How To Fish Efficiently in Bridger: Western
To begin fishing, click and hold to cast your rod, and complete the QTE minigame to reel your catch. The duration of the QTE depends on the rarity of your catch.
Note: To equip bait, you need to manually click it in your hotbar before casting your line every single time you fish.
Using bait increases the pull time by 2x. This makes hooking fish and catching them significantly easier.
I may have lied a little bit. Theres no way to enhance your fishing, but staying alive and well hidden whilst you fish definitely helps with prosperity. After all, it isn’t very efficient to find yourself swapping between rod and gun every time a player approaches.
The plains and the canyon offer visibility. So whilst others can see you, you can see them. It’s hard for players to get the drop on you, plus I don’t see either of these coastlines as high-traffic areas (from my own experience).
Anthill, the trainline from Ridge to Outlaws, and the Swamp always seem quite busy, and I notice a lot of fights break out, hence why I recommend avoiding these areas. If you have safety in numbers amongst trusted friends, then I’d say give the riskier areas a shot for a change of scenery.

- Common: 81.7% chance
- Rare: 16.25% chance
- Epic: 2% chance
- Legendary: 0.05% chance
Fish
When you find fish, you can cook them over a campfire to make them edible for short-duration buffs. Eating them raw causes you to vomit and tank a short stun.
Cooked fish also sells for more, making them profitable, despite being so common.
- Cod
- Sells for 35 Moola.
- Restores a small amount of health upon consumption.
- Cooked buff: Reduces DMG taken for 20 seconds.
- Bass
- Sells for 45 Moola.
- Restores a small amount of health upon consumption.
- Cooked buff: TBA
- Red Snapper
- Sells for 25 Moola.
- Restores a small amount of health upon consumption.
- Cooked buff: Applies a brief speed buff.
Items
- Chests (Rare)
- Open to receive random loot!
- Mare’s Leg (Epic)
- A secondary weapon which you can take to Flint for refurbishments for 1,500 Moola. Holds 7 bullets, deals low damage, but is a faster version of the Winchester Repeater.
- Golden Bass (Legendary)
- Sells for 15,000 Moola.
- Cannot be cooked or eaten.
- Arrow Shards (Legendary)
- A second method for obtaining a Stand. Allows freedom of choice between a roster, not including unobtainable Stands, or those with questline obtainments.
