HoYoverse is sending out invitations for the upcoming Petit Planet: Stardrift Test. The rollout started on April 20th at 10:00 (UTC+8). Pre-download is already available for those who have secured entry. It marks the first phase of access distribution ahead of the test’s start.

When does the Petit Planet: Stardrift Test start?

Petit Planet: Stardrift Test begins on April 21st, 2026. It will operate as a limited-access, data-wipe test. No in-game purchases will be included during this phase.

Access to the test is restricted to users aged 18 and above. However, the developers have clarified that it doesn’t reflect the eventual age rating of the game.

The test will be playable across Android, iOS, and PC platforms, with Windows being the only supported operating system for PC users.

On PC, the suggested setup includes Windows 10 or later, an Intel i5 11th Gen or AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series CPU or higher. For iOS users, the test requires iOS 14.0 or later, with at least 4 GB of RAM and 10 GB of free space.

Android participants can use devices running Android 9.0 or later, with 6 GB of RAM and 12 GB of available storage. You can check out more details on the specifications here.

What does Petit Planet look like?

Petit Planet is a cosy life sim with planet customisation, farming, and exploration with gacha elements. You develop your own planet, catch creatures, fish, and craft furniture while interacting with NPCs and visiting other players’ worlds.

The gameplay features a unique star-sea exploration system. You get to use a custom car to explore other planets’ islets, gather resources and bring them back home. There’s also a Luca resource system, which can unlock more territory, crops, and features. Basically, it helps you upgrade planet life.

So far, the game has been described by testers as a blend of Animal Crossing and The Little Prince. What do you think about it?
