miHoYo has announced the next testing phase for Honkai: Nexus Anima, with the game’s Evolution Test beginning on July 9th, 2026. The closed beta test will be held across PC, iOS, and Android. While the company has confirmed the start date, it hasn’t revealed an end date yet.

Registration is already underway for the Honkai: Nexus Anima Evolution Test

The Evolution Test marks another step forward for Honkai: Nexus Anima. According to miHoYo and HoYoverse, this test build will expand both gameplay and story content, introducing additional characters, new Anima, unexplored regions, and fresh gameplay systems.

The game is being developed as a creature-collecting adventure strategy game within the Honkai series. If you’re interested, you can register for the CBT through the game’s official website. Completing the recruitment survey will give you a chance to secure a spot in the upcoming test.

The game’s setting revolves around the concept of the Nexus. They are invisible connections linking paired Aspects such as Love and Hate, Light and Dark, and Reality and Illusion. Following a cataclysmic event known as the Sundering, these bonds were broken apart, scattering their remaining power throughout the world in the form of creatures called Anima.

Players journey through this fractured world by forming bonds with Anima and drawing upon the powers of the Aspects. These abilities influence both combat and exploration. Battles make use of different tactical options from the Anima and Aspect powers.

The same systems also play a role in solving environmental challenges and traversing the game’s large overworld. The narrative places equal emphasis on companionship and mystery. You’ll be exploring locations ranging from quiet town benches and tree-lined pathways to warmly lit urban spaces.

The Evolution Test will be free to access for selected participants. Progress made during the test will not carry over, as the beta will conclude with a full data wipe. Whether you get in or not, be sure to watch these latest trailers.
