HoYoverse has announced the release date for Version Luna VIII in Genshin Impact. Titled Sunny Summer Fontinalia, it will arrive on July 1st, bringing a major story development on Sandrone. Also, there’s a completely new lunar region known as the Frost Moon and a seasonal event in Fontaine to look forward to.
Version Luna VIII sees the return of Sandrone in Genshin Impact
She’s the Seventh of the Fatui Harbingers. You probably last saw her sacrifice herself during the intense conflict in Nod-Krai. There, she helped Columbina and the Traveler secure victory against The Doctor. Her apparent death left many unanswered questions, and Version Luna VIII is set to address exactly how she managed to return.
Sandrone joins the playable roster as a 5-star Cryo Claymore character and arrives alongside an entirely new combat mechanic called Stellar-Conduct. You can activate this Cryo-Electro reaction by specific Cryo and Electro characters, creating a temporary Polestar Field around the battlefield.
Sandrone can increase the entire team’s Stellar-Conduct damage through the Polestar Field while commanding Fagio. Fagio also builds up a resource called Decoding Power, and once it reaches its firing threshold, the construct’s attack intervals become longer.
She will appear in the first half of Version Luna VIII’s Character Event Wishes alongside a rerun for Citlali. Meanwhile, the second half of the update will bring back Columbina and Raiden Shogun. Take a look at them in the Genshin Impact Version Luna VIII trailer below.
There’s a new chapter, too
You’ll board a spacecraft and travel beyond the skies of Teyvat to reach the moon for the first time. The newly accessible Frost Moon region introduces new landscapes and locations. Among them are a glowing yet dangerous lunar sea, a space station suspended in outer space, and ancient ruins connected to the history of the ancient dragon race.
