My Sword x Staff Classes Tier List imagines how progressing through each Class lineage brings new Skills and combat techniques to the table, ranking each, including their main points of development for your playstyle.
By the end of this Tier, you should hopefully have an understanding, or at least inspiration, of how you want to progress and play through each branching path.
Let’s get into it.
Sword x Staff Classes Tier List
This Tier is up to date as of June 18th, 2026.
S-TIER
- Ravager
- Ravager prides itself on destroying enemies using elemental damage, dealing serious damage and executing tiles of enemies before they can counter.
- Templar
- Deals absolutely insane damage and has a solid variety of Skills that synergise well with previous Warrior lineages, whilst also bringing new and powerful techniques to play.
- Arcanist
- Incredibly powerful spell-based combat, with plenty of trickery techniques to dispel enemies with stacking debuffs, and strong damage dealers.
- Berserker
- Berserker predominantly introduces numerous self-buffing techniques to aid in execution. Depending on how you balance these to a character will depend on how strong this Class feels to play.
- Paladin
- An incredibly powerful Class with a range of techniques, including self-buffs and strong damage dealers.
- Conqueror
- Deals great stack damage by utilising statistical chances for huge multipliers. Overall, very strong in unity with other Skills.
A-TIER
- Prophet
- Great deflection skills that counter incoming damage, as well as powerful attacking skills to follow up with for strong combos.
- Archmage
- A predominantly elemental-based lineage, with techniques adapted to pressuring enemies with status effects.
- Sorcerer
- The upgrade from Mage, and my preferred lineage. Sorcerer has incredibly versatile techniques with great combat control, buffs, debuffs, and Doom DMG.
- Duelist
- Great upgrade for Warrior Classes, with strong elemental skills and tactics deployed during combat.
- Knight
- The upgrade from Warrior. Knight has a good balance between supporting Skills and attacking Skills, making it a decent upgrade, especially with group play such as Dungeons and Raids.
B-TIER
- Guardian
- Focuses heavily on water/ice Skills with some self-buffs. It’s quite a specific niche which isn’t a one-size-fits-all.
- Dominator
- Despite its high rank, Dominator is a little too random for my liking. A lot of the Skills fall to chance or seem too situational to truly be helpful.
- Destroyer
- If you build your Skills around elemental damage, then this Class is the natural upgrade as its techniques aid in stacking damage on elemental attacks. Otherwise, you won’t reap many benefits.
- Mage
- One of two Class options at launch. This Class follows the path of magics, utilising spells to disarm and defeat enemies.
- Warrior
- One of the two Class options at launch. This Class prioritises brute force and raw damage.
C-TIER
- Magister
- Not my favourite, Magister has a focus on elemental damage, which we see earlier in the game from other Classes. It’s a decent extension, but nothing new for how far into the game it comes into play.
- Sage
- The upgrade from Mage. With the inclusion of Mage Skills to balance the Sage, I don’t think it’s all that bad. But on Skills alone, this Class feels situationally disadvantaged, since it primarily focuses on scaling for its techniques. In the early game, these scaling feels a little lacklustre.
D-TIER
- No D-Tier Classes.
