How To Adopt The BEST Horses in Bridger Western
When you start a new campaign, you’ll receive a free Mule, which you summon using H. This Mule is a temporary alliance; as when you reach Tier 3, you can get a permanent Horse by visiting the Horse Stables at either the Outlaw Camp or the Main Town (Ridge B. County).
The seller will display a horse’s price, name, and offer a vague description. The price per stallion ranges from 150 to 1,500 Moola.
I recommend fishing and selling your spoils to earn enough cash before adopting your trusty steed.
The Cost of Greatness
The description and price formula works as follows: the NPC adds all horse stats; if it’s above a certain threshold, the horse is expensive. Mid numbers equate to mid horses, and low numbers equate to weak horses.
800~ Moola and upwards is a good earmark for what you want to purchase. If no horses have this price range, you can spend 20 Moola to reroll your selection.
Legendary and Mythical Horses
On extremely rare occasions, the NPC may offer you a Legendary or Mythical-tier horse. These steeds have the capacity to exceed the 1.25 limit, as well as enjoy a considerable stat boost.
HOWEVER.
Before you trot away all happy, these horses do not have pre-determined good stats and are instead boosted versions of other horse tiers. This means you could encounter a low-tier Legendary horse, which would be quite the waste of Moola to invest in.
Note: When finding a Legendary or Mythical rarity horse, their corresponding brackets will display in all caps, and a confirmation prompt will pop up when skipping.
Horse Stats
Pressing M will display your horse’s stats and name on the bottom left of your screen. Stats vary from 0.85 to 1.25 across Speed, Stamina, Jump, Damage, Scale, and Turn.
Note: the 1.25 limit is higher for Legendary and Mythical horses. An ideal find would be a high-tier Legendary or Mythic Horse, with boosted stats.
These stats are primarily momentum-based, meaning a good horse will have a balance between several of the stats. Having an incredibly fast horse with weak turning will make you vulnerable on horseback, and vice versa.

- Which stats should I prioritise?
- Speed, Stamina, and Turn are all good stats to focus on. These three synergise well to curate a powerful horse capable of outrunning encounters or getting the drop on targets. They’re also much more convenient for long-distance travel if you’re not local to the train station.
- I’m still confused. How do the Legendary and Mythic Horses work?
- Horses have tiers corresponding to their prices:
- Low-tier: cheap, weak stats (0.85 base)
- Mid-tier: average, average stats
- Good-tier: expensive, good stats (1.25 limit)
- Any one of these tiers may have a horse be Legendary or Mythic rarity. All this does is allow the 1.25 limit to be exceeded for a random assortment of stats when purchasing. For example, you could have a Mid-Tier Mythic horse with a Damage stat higher than the 1.25 limit.
