MADHOUSE will be the focus of a studio special that includes episodes from ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department Regards and Funeral of Freiren. Animators Saito Keiichiro and Kariya Nobuhide will take the stage to discuss their work.
There will also be commentary on Natsume Shingo’s upcoming project Ghost, scheduled for release in 2027. The festival’s jury program will bring together Flow director Gints Zilbalodis and Look Back director Kiyotaka Oshiyama for a dialogue session.
Beyond screenings…
Meanwhile, the festival has a strong educational and creative exchange element. There will be lectures and talks by Japanese and international creators, including a feature session called Artist Talk: Creators Pioneering a New Era for Japanese Animation.
