Denpa-inspired visual novel game Needy Streamer Overload is getting an anime adaptation! Known in Japan as Needy Girl Overdose, it’s created by Japanese developer Xemono and published by WSS Playground. It was first released in 2022 for PC and console.

The game’s official X account made the announcement. Alongside the announcement, the team dropped a new trailer, a key visual, and a full list of staff members. The broadcast is planned for April 2026.

Who will be bringing the internet-obsessed story to life?

Masaoki Nakashima, who previously worked on New Panty & Stocking with GARTERBELT and Blue Archive The Animation, is directing the adaptation at Yostar Pictures. Yostar is the studio behind Arknights and Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!

Kenji Saikai, Akari Takei, and Kaito Shimizu are handling the anime’s main character designs. The music will come from Aiobahn +81, Sasuke Haraguchi, and DÉ DÉ MOUSE. The game’s original creator Nyalra is overseeing the story and scenario.

The production team features a lineup of experienced artists and technicians. There’s Ryuta Hayashi as art director, Kaoru Marumoto, Yume Sakai, and Daisuke Katano as 3DCG artists, and Naoto Kondo as colour designer.

In addition to its April 2026 TV debut, the Needy Streamer Overload anime will have an advance theatrical screening. It’s a special compilation of the TV episodes at Theatre Shinjuku in Tokyo and Theatre Umeda in Osaka.

Set in a stylised, internet-saturated world, the game follows Ame, a mentally fragile girl trying to become the ultimate online streamer. She also has a manager, P-chan, who guides, or rather controls, her. The team describes the anime as a new interpretation of Ame’s story that will bring fresh emotional depth to the source material.
