The wait for Haibara’s Teenage New Game+ to move from page to screen finally ended today. Well, kind of! The team has dropped the first glimpse of the anime adaptation, along with staff and cast details. The anime is set to begin in April 2026.
The show adapts the light novel series written by Kazuki Amamiya and illustrated by Gin. Yuto Uemura, known for playing Atsushi Nakajima in Bungo Stray Dogs, steps into the role of Natsuki Haibara. Kanon Takao, who portrayed Sakiko Togawa in BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!, takes on the part of Hikari Hoshimiya.
Studio Comet is handling animation and Misuzu Hoshino is directing the anime. His work includes Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!. Keiichiro Ochi, credited for The Quintessential Quintuplets, is in charge of the series composition. Hiromi Ono from Rinkai! handles character design and Sonosuke Takao, who also worked on Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, composes the music.

If you haven’t read the manga yet, here’s how the story goes. It follows socially anxious college senior Natsuki Haibara, who is plagued by memories of a disappointing high school life. His routine breaks when he’s transported seven years into the past, landing just a month before his first year of high school.
The setup sends him into a do-over scenario where he attempts to correct every regret. That also includes pursuing the girl he once dreamed of. His tools range from workout plans to online guides, alongside the support of a childhood friend.
