Production staff for the anime adaptation of Reiji Miyajima’s Rent-A-Girlfriend has shared new details for the fifth season of the series. It came alongside a new teaser video, which confirmed the theme songs for the upcoming episodes.

The teaser video opens with a reflective monologue from Kinoshita Kazuya. It then shifts into a more serious tone, with scenes involving Nanami Asami, Sarashina Ruka, and Mizuhara Chizuru. It closes on Kazuya and Chizuru sharing a kiss.

Sora Amamiya is handling the opening theme titled Non Scenario Etude. While rock band NAKIGOTO is performing the ending theme 204-gōshitsu, also known as Room 204. Amamiya not only performs the opening but also wrote and composed the song herself.
Sora Amamiya described Non Scenario Etude as a bright song created while repeatedly reading Rent-A-Girlfriend. She also voices Mizuhara Chizuru in the series. Meanwhile, NAKIGOTO commented that the story helped them realise that the desire to protect something might represent the greatest form of love.
Although it’s being referred to as the fifth season, the new run is technically the previously announced second cours of the fourth season. The continuation will debut in April on the Animeism programming block.
The fourth season began streaming on July 1st through DMM TV and d Anime Store. It wrapped up in September with its 12th episode, and was originally planned as a two-cour season split by a break.
Rent-A-Girlfriend follows the story of Kinoshita Kazuya, a 20-year-old college student who considers himself a failure. After being dumped by his girlfriend only a month into the relationship, he vows never to experience that kind of heartbreak again.
Acting out of spite, he turns to a rental girlfriend service, where he meets Mizuhara Chizuru. She’s a beautiful young woman with long black hair. The paid arrangement becomes a complicated web of lies, feelings, and unexpected emotional growth. Learn more about it here.
