Companies always find new ways to promote their products and services. Sometimes, two of them just find each other. That’s the case of Asahi Beer and Square Enix, who have teamed up to promote Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The highlight? Sephiroth sipping on Asahi Beer.
Yes, you’ll see Sephiroth casually sipping on a lemon sour in a short promo video. The drink is called Mirai no Lemon Sour, which translates to Future Lemon Sour. It’s a delight to watch! And probably slightly surreal, too. You see a super serious villain just taking a break to enjoy a cold one.
In the video, Sephiroth bites into a slice of lemon floating in the new Asahi Beer drink, takes a sip, and then actually relaxes a bit. He even lets out a satisfied sigh, which is not exactly the kind of reaction you’d associate with him. Take a look at it here!
The Sephiroth x Asahi Beer collab is not just a TV commercial!
There’s a real-world pop-up bar happening, modelled after Seventh Heaven, the bar run by Tifa in the game. A limited-time Future Lemon Sour Bar with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will run for five days from April 29th to May 3rd, 2026.
The location is Roppongi Hills Arena, specifically the Ooyane Plaza area in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Visitors can step into a version of Seventh Heaven and try the Future Lemon Sour. It perfectly lines up with the Golden Week holidays when a lot of people are out and about.
There’s even an experience where Barret shows up in some form to teach people how to enjoy the drink. Meanwhile, a new variant of the drink called Mirai no Lemon Sour Extra Strong is launching on the 28th.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth came out in 2024 as the follow-up to Final Fantasy VII Remake from 2020. It first launched on PlayStation 5, then made its way to PC in January 2025. Now, versions for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S are arriving this June.
