Final Fantasy Brave Exvius was a tactical role-playing game that first launched in Japan in November 2019. The global version followed in March 2020. Co-developed by Square Enix and Gumi, it was published by Square Enix for iOS and Android devices.
The project acted as a spin-off of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It also took heavy inspiration from the Final Fantasy Tactics series, especially The War of the Lions. In March 2025, Square Enix announced that the global version would end service on May 29th, 2025. The Japanese version continued operating for another year before now ending on May 28th, 2026.
Community reactions following the shutdown and the release of the memorial movie have been a mix of nostalgia, frustration, and exhaustion with live-service mobile games.
