Roblox is an overwhelming platform with thousands of games to choose from. If you’re like me and avoid the AI-slop content that’s breached the front page, then you’ll likely have no idea what actually fun Roblox games to play over the holidays.

Fortunately, I love Roblox, despite its rough exterior. I commonly find myself discovering unique games to play. So, I’ll share with you my selection of top picks that are ideal entertaining time wasters, whether you’re solo or multiplayer.

The Forge

Chances are, you’ve heard of The Forge, and this top pick doesn’t shock you.

I hugely anticipated the release of this game, and it totally delivered, matching all of my expectations and more.

In short, you complete a satisfying gameplay loop of mining ores to forge stronger equipment and discover more powerful areas, riddled with increasingly difficult enemies. Along the way, you’ll complete quests, gain powerful items, and uncover secret locations.

Formalities out of the way, I love The Forge. It’s just the correct amount of challenge where the game doesn’t become repetitive and stale. I love the world designs and how hands-on the forging process is. If you’re a fan of grindy games and like combat with rewarding customised items, then I recommend checking it out!

  • Game Type: Forging Simulator and Action RPG
  • Voice Chat: Yes
  • Multi/Single: Both. It’s fun both in Single and Multiplayer
  • Overall Author Rating: 9/10

99 Nights in the Forest

99 Nights in the Forest is a Horror Survival, where you gather resources and rescue four lost children out in the eerie wilderness. Across the 99 Days, your camp will become victim to otherworldly entities, loyal cultists of said beings, and poor natural weathering.

This game is SO fun. It’s constantly receiving new content updates to keep each campaign fresh, with new things to discover in the wild that will either help you prosper, or perish…

I think the Deer looks goofy enough to dilute the Horror genre of this game, making it less intimidating to wimps like me. It’s also just sandboxy enough that there’s a sense of accomplishment in surviving beyond 99 days with your customised camp.

That and it’s really funny hearing friends blow out the mic when they’re almost dead or being chased.

Whilst this game does support single-player, I personally only find it engaging when playing Multiplayer with friends.

  • Voice Chat: Yes
  • Multi/Single: Best Multiplayer, but supports Singleplayer

Something Evil Will Happen

If you’d prefer something less grindy or long, SEWH is a great and hilarious game. It’s an indirect evolution of the classic Natural Disaster, having quickfire maps with randomly selected disasters that aim to kill.

If you survive, you’ll earn cash, which you can exchange for fun and iconic emotes (I have every Teto-inspired emote), or items to troll other players and save your hind during future games.

Something Evil Will Happen also has this super lovely, bubbly and almost retro-roblox-like polish, making it so charming to play. The chatrooms are usually quite funny too, so this is a game I often play to wind down and chill with for a few minutes to several hours when I fancy a low-commitment singleplayer endeavour.

  • Multi/Single: Both

Armless Detective

You lost your arms, but not your wits. As the Armless Detective, you must solve increasingly difficult crime cases to earn cash for cosmetic chests.

Armless Detective is similar to SEWH in the sense that I can enjoy it single-player and multiplayer, from a quick game to completing several hours of detective work. It’s fun to utilise the Inspector Gadget-like hat to uncover clues and narrow down subjects until you catch the culprit.

Armless Detective is chill, satisfying, and overall an enjoyable experience. Plus, it’s rolled out a holiday-themed update, so now is the perfect time to lose yourself (and your arms) in this game.
