DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY Tier List
This tier list is up to date as of March 24th, 2026.
S-TIER
- Cloud
- The best natural damage dealer in the game, being ideal for Bosses and 1-on-1 PvP. Has an ability that knocks enemies into the sky, leaving them vulnerable to combo attacks.
- Gaia
- Between her UR, which slows enemies down, and the other, which triggers an AoE tracker preventing escape, Gaia is a nightmare who can efficiently wipe out entire teams with her AoE. That said, players may struggle to play her unless they’re good with skill timings and cooldowns.
- Kain
- Requires tons of skill and focus to master, but he is one of the most amazing kits in the game, having versatile and broad skills covering all categories (PvP, Bosses, and Crystals).
A-TIER
- Warrior of Light
- An incredible buffer and tank, but WoL falls short because he requires tons of teamwork to set up. WoL needs to stay next to teammates, slowing the flow of battle and becoming a liability.
- Terra
- The best ranged characters in the game, with some incredible Boss and PvP movesets under her sleeve. She’d be in the top tier if not for her finicky skills requiring impeccable timing to execute.
- Lightning
- An easy character to play, with an affinity for speed, clearing crystals easily and leaving competition in the dust. She also has some overpowered AoE and PvP attacks, making her a versatile choice for PvP and Bosses. She’s a bit of a glass cannon, but is easily an S-Tier if you know how to play her.
B-TIER
- Krile
- The best healer in the game, as a tradeoff for having no PvP skills or damage. This restricts Krile’s versatility, making her less desirable unless you have an ideal team set up to support her. Her main purpose outside of healing is Crystal Clearing, which is something Lightning does much more effectively.
- Prompto
- Prompto is tricky to use, but he has some decent PvP abilities and a built-in stun. His main drawbacks are cooldowns and how challenging he is to master.
C-TIER
- Rinoa
- A grey area, you may love Rinoa, but I personally find her to be a bit of a drab play. She’s easy to figure out and navigate, which isn’t a good trait, as opponents can quickly get the upper hand on her. That said, her kit isn’t half bad if you know how to wield it properly.
D-TIER
- Zidane
- Overall, a little lacklustre to play. His URs don’t synergise well with his abilities, making him a pointless play.
Reroll Guide
After choosing which character you’ll main, attempt to reroll for at least 1x UR of that character. Every UR translates to an additional ability that grants invulnerability frames for dodging attacks.
For example, if you play Cloud, you can free reroll for a Cloud UR, which allows you to chain two abilities with the character action, to steal Brave Points.
Note: Brave Points are awarded for killing monsters, defeating rivals, and breaking crystals. Once at 9,999 BP, you can trigger a Brave Burst.
You also need corresponding cards to fit your build, which helps create synergy between characters and their skills for combo streaks. Otherwise, you will struggle to defeat Bosses and Rivals.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What does each tier mean?
- S: The most well-rounded characters with incredibly versatile and well-synergised skills.
- A: These characters are incredibly strong, but have some drawback gimmicks, be it their cooldown, skills timings, or ease of mastery for the average player. If you can navigate these, they’re incredible alternatives to the top tier.
- B: Decent characters with some notable drawbacks that make them overall quite the average choice.
- C: This tier holds situationally niche characters, which have specific refinements that don’t translate to most of the game’s content. They’re hard to play, and worse to master.
- D: These characters are a little obscure and not the most fun to play. If you like them, then by all means prove me wrong and succeed with them.
- Q: Is rerolling necessary?
- Not really. Games are supposed to be fun, but if you want to pair your chosen character with their UR skills, then I do recommend taking the time to reroll, especially during the early phases of the release, where you get tons of currency for free.
