Weekly Young Magazine’s 52 yearly issue has confirmed that Umamusume: Cinderella Gray manga is approaching its end. Masafumi Sugiura and Taiyo Kuzumi’s manga has exactly 5 chapters left before it wraps up on December 25th.
The announcement closes a five-year period that began on June 11th, 2020. It’s when Weekly Young Jump Magazine first launched the series and later gathered it into 21 volumes. Shueisha noted in its 52nd Young Jump issue that the title, based on Cygames’ Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise, has been in its final arc since July 17th.

The manga’s story follows Oguri Cap, tracing her journey from the boondocks where her weak knees was an obstacle. Despite the limitations, her mother’s encouragement and her own determination helped her learn to run and later enter a local racing academy.
She then eyes the national competition once her talent emerges. This trajectory mirrors the exploits of the real-life Oguri Cap, who recorded 22 victories out of 32 races, with 4 Grade 1 wins among them.
His standout achievements include back-to-back wins in the 2500-meter Arima Kinen, the 1989 Mile Championship, and the 1990 Yasuda Kinen. His won the 1988 JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Colt, the 1990 JRA Award for Best Older Male Horse, and the Horse of the Year title in 1990. Oguri Cap lived until the age of 25 and passed away on July 3, 2010.
Meanwhile, Cygames Pictures continues work on the television anime adaptation of Umamusume: Cinderella Gray manga. The series premiered on April 6th this year and is currently streaming in multiple platforms.
