New opening and ending videos for Dead Account, the anime, are now out. The best part is that they are creditless, so the spotlight is solely on the show’s tone and music. The first episode of the anime premiered on January 10th, 2026.
The idea behind Dead Account treats the internet as a kind of afterlife. Here, abandoned social media profiles can linger long enough to turn into something far more dangerous. In this world, forgotten accounts can manifest as digital ghosts, and dealing with them requires a new kind of exorcist.

The opening sequence runs to the song Dead End by Haru Igarashi. While the ending plays Raise wa Douse, also known as In the Next Life Anyway, performed by Miyu Kaneko.

The anime is directed by Keiya Saito, known for work such as Rokudo’s Bad Girls. It’s produced at studio SynergySP. Series composition is by Mitsutaka Hirota of EDENS ZERO. The music by Keiji Inai, who previously worked on The Beginning After the End.
Crunchyroll is streaming Dead Account as it airs. The story centres on Soji Enishiro. While struggling to cover his sister’s medical bills, Soji suddenly awakens cyberkinesis. His new power pulls him into Miden Academy, a hidden school where spirit mediums are trained specifically to combat ghosts born from online remnants.
The anime is based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shizumu Watanabe. The manga first began serialisation in Kodansha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2023. An official English version of the manga is available on K Manga.
