A television light anime adaptation has been confirmed for Monster Eater. The series will broadcast on television in Japan, beginning in April 2026 on TOKYO MX. The team revealed a teaser trailer and teaser art alongside staff details.
Animation studios Imagica Infos and Imageworks Studio will produce the Monster Eater adaptation. Hikaru Satō will direct the anime, while Kazuya Takahashi will oversee production supervision. The project will be a light anime, a format that typically emphasises shorter runtimes and streamlined animation approaches.

Monster Eater originates from a Japanese light novel series written by Renkinō and illustrated by Kawaku. They released the story online first in March 2023 on the novel publishing platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later picked up by Earth Star Entertainment.
Later, Monster Eater expanded into multiple manga and webtoon adaptations. The story follows Rudd, an E-Rank adventurer known derisively as a grubby forager. Possessing a status immunity skill that appears useless to others, he survives by repeatedly entering dangerous labyrinths to gather medicinal herbs.
In a society focused on dungeon crawling and adventurer rankings, his role leaves him isolated and vulnerable. After being betrayed and abandoned during an expedition, Rudd resorts to eating monster flesh to stay alive, an act considered taboo.
