A television anime adaptation of Rainy Day Serenade has been announced. An official website launched today, confirming that the series will premiere in 2027. The project brings to the screen Haruka Kawachi’s time-travel romance manga, and the creator marked the announcement with a newly drawn illustration.
The new visual portrays Hina and Takaaki laughing together as children. It’s a nostalgic image that hints at the emotional threads running through the story. For the time being, further production specifics remain under wraps.

Rainy Day Serenade is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruka Kawachi. It was serialised in Kodansha’s josei manga magazine Kiss from November 2014 to November 2025, spanning a total of 73 chapters.
The chapters were later compiled into fourteen tankōbon volumes released between October 2015 and February 2026. The 14th and final compiled volume was published in Japan today, February 13th!
The series was serialised in Kiss from 2014 to 2025, closing out an 11-year run in the magazine. In January 2026, Kodansha USA announced that it had licensed the series for English release.
The story follows Hina, a modern high school girl whose connection to the past emerges in her dreams. Whenever it rains, she sees visions of her younger self playing in a garden with a boy she can’t clearly place.
That uncertainty fades when she later encounters a young man named Takaaki. In a sudden turn, Hina finds herself transported back in time to the year 1907, during the Meiji era of Japan, after being grabbed by him.
