The studio that made Lord of Heroes is officially shutting things down. Clover Games has started formal corporate bankruptcy proceedings. It means it’s the end of the road after struggling financially for a while.

Clover Games CEO Yoon Sung-guk shared a message that was pretty honest about how rough things got for the past few years. The team had been cutting costs wherever they could just to keep their games running.

On top of that, the CEO apparently put in over ₩3 billion personally over the past three years to keep the company afloat. Even with all that, they still couldn’t stabilise things, and eventually the money just ran out.

Clover Games did have a solid presence in mobile gaming. Titles like Lord of Heroes, HeavenHells, and Ayakashi Rise had loyal player bases both in Korea and globally. But even with that support, the company couldn’t keep up with the financial pressure and growing competition.

With Clover Games announcing corporate bankruptcy, what’s next for their titles?

They’ve already started winding things down. All the games will be removed from the stores. Servers will go offline on May 9th, 2026, at 14:00 UTC. In-app purchases are already off, so you can’t spend any more money in the games.

Refunds are also messy right now. Since the corporate bankruptcy filing is already in place, Clover Games says they can’t handle refunds directly anymore. If players want their money back for past purchases, they’ll have to go through the platforms they used. Like they need to use the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and request it through their support systems.
