After years of speculation about whether the grimy streets of the Hole would return to television, Dorohedoro Season 2 is back. Studio MAPPA, which is overseeing production of the anime, has finally revealed the details for the upcoming broadcast.
When does Dorohedoro Season 2 air?
The new season will begin on April 1st, 2026, with streaming services in Japan carrying the premiere at 23:00 JST. Episodes will roll out every Wednesday from 11:00 PM starting April 1st, with streaming almost simultaneously worldwide.
The announcement was accompanied by a fresh key visual. It was created specifically for the second season by character designer Tomohiro Kishi. Kaiman and Nikaido stand at the centre of a chaotic, distorted landscape. They are joined by the Smoke family and several cross-eyed characters. The tagline attached to the visual reads ‘Jump! Into the swamp of chaos.’
Yuichiro Hayashi is returning as director for Dorohedoro Season 2. Hayashi previously directed the first season of Dorohedoro as well as Attack on Titan Final Season and Kakegurui. Hiroshi Seko resumes duties in series composition, and Tomohiro Kishi continues as character designer.
Voice cast members returning for Dorohedoro Season 2 include Takagi Wataru as Kaiman, Kondo Reina as Nikaido, and Horiuchi Kenyuu as Kemuri. There are also Hosoya Yoshimasa as Kokoro, Kobayashi Yuu as Noi, Takanashi Kengo as Fujita, and Tomita Miyu as Ebisu.
Know the story?
The anime adapts the dark fantasy manga by Q Hayashida. It’s a violent and absurd world divided between the downtrodden residents of a city known only as the Hole and the powerful Sorcerers. The latter group uses its citizens for black arts experiments.
In a shadowy alley, Nikaido discovers Caiman, a man cursed with a reptile head and no memory of his past. Together, they begin hunting Sorcerers in hopes of finding the one responsible for his transformation. Their actions eventually draw the attention of En, the head Sorcerer, who dispatches a group of cleaners into the Hole, setting off a war between the two worlds.
