The television anime adaptation of I Want to End This Love Game has confirmed its upcoming schedule. It’s airing on Japanese TV this spring, making its debut on April 14th at 23:00 JST. The production has also shared a new key visual and more artists’ information.

The opening theme will be Kimi no Sei de Aishiteru performed by CHiCO with HoneyWorks. Meanwhile, the ending theme will be Little World by PompadollS.
Several additional cast members have also been announced. Wakana Maruoka will voice Wakana Asagi, Takehito Koyasu will play Masaru Shinonome, Yui Ogura will appear as Hinako Hanaba, and Kaede Hondo will portray Natsuki Moegi.
The I Want to End This Love Game anime adaptation is being directed by Azuma Tani, known for work on Thermae Romae. Animation production is by the studio FelixFilm. Series composition is by Keiichiro Ochi, whose previous credits include The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten.
The anime is based on the romantic comedy manga by Yuki Domoto. The story began serialisation on Shogakukan’s online platform Sunday Webry in December 2021, where it continues to be published. Shogakukan later collected the chapters into tankōbon volumes, with the first volume released in April 2022.
The story follows Yukiya Asagi and Miku Sakura, childhood friends who started an unusual challenge back when they were in the sixth grade. The two created a game in which they repeatedly say I love you to each other, with the rule that whoever becomes flustered first loses.
The playful competition continues for four years, carrying over into their high school life. Even though they keep repeating the phrase jokingly, both Yukiya and Miku gradually develop genuine feelings for one another.
