Over the weekend, a special announcement was made at the EVO Japan 2026 event. If you remember Melty Blood: Type Lumina from 2021, it’s getting a revamped version. Aniplex dropped a glimpse of Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, the bigger updated version with new characters and more!
Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina will come out in early 2027
It will come to multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam. The team dropped a teaser and some preview artwork by character designer Takashi Takeuchi.

Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is still a 2D Fighter, sticking to what the series has always been about. Set in the world of Tsukihime, a fantasy visual novel from Type-Moon. The series first hit PC in 2002, and since then, it has had releases across Arcades, PlayStation Systems, and Steam.
Twi-Lumina builds directly on Type Lumina, which had a story written by Kinoko Nasu and character designs by Takashi Takeuchi. The new version will bring a new story also written by Kinoko Nasu, with more characters and an upgraded battle system.
As for the basics, it’s a 2D fighter and supports 1 to 2 players with online play included. The 2021 game was developed by French-Bread with help from Tamsoft and Gameloop, and published by Delightworks and Lasengle.
If you like anime-style fighting games in general, this must be exciting for you. It surely is for me, as I always liked the 2D visual novel fighting video game series Melty Blood. If you’re eager to learn more about the upcoming title, head over to the official website.
Meanwhile, you can check out the game in its current form on Steam for PC or on other platforms.
