Anpanman is preparing for another theatrical release with its upcoming 37th feature film. Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi just dropped the main trailer with a new visual. In English, it’s translated as Let’s Go! Anpanman: Pantan and the Promised Star.
Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi continues its decades-long tradition of annual summer premieres
The film opens in Japan on June 26th, 2026. It introduces Pantan, a travelling red panda voiced by guest star Tao Tsuchiya. Pantan is driven by a long-standing promise made to a fellow adventurer. He sets out in search of a treasure said to be hidden within a rainbow star shining in the night sky.
Along the way, Pantan encounters Anpanman, who lends his abilities to support the quest. The narrative follows the group’s efforts to track down the fabled treasure while facing new obstacles.
Among the obstacles are characters brought to life by the comedy duo EXIT. They’re making their voice-acting debuts in the anime film. Rintaro takes on the role of Amagumora, a cloud monster capable of controlling rain, thunder, and lightning, and who attacks Anpanman and his friends. Daiki Kanechika voices Cutie Bird Robo, a mechanical invention created by Baikinman in yet another attempt to defeat Anpanman.

Hiroyuki Yano is directing Soreike! Anpanman: Pantan to Yakusoku no Hoshi. Shoji Yonemura is writing the screenplay. Both of them are longtime contributors to the series. Music is by franchise veterans Taku Izumi and Hiroaki Kondo. Keiko Toda once again provides the voice of Anpanman, while Ryusei Nakao returns as Baikinman.
The previous film, Soreike! Anpanman: Chapon no Hero!, opened in Japan last June. It ranked number 8 in its opening weekend. You can learn about the upcoming movie on the official X account.
