Let your units cosplay from other franchises using my guide that tells you the Best Relics in Universal Tower Defense, including how to obtain them, what makes them so special, and everything else you need to know about Relics.

Start playing Universal Tower Defense via Roblox. Or, find out which units I recommend you dress in Relics using my Tier List.

Best Relics in Universal Tower Defense

The best Relics in UTD are the Master Ninja set and the Junior Ninja set, which can be obtained from Ninja Forest. If you want to correspond Head Pieces, you’ll need to complete the same act within Virtual Reality.

This might seem odd given Story Mode has more difficult maps past Ninja Forest, but the Relics from those areas don’t seem to synergise as well with the current meta set of units.

For example, the Master Ninja Set, depending on the rarity of the Relic, will often favour Damage and Damage Over Time enhancements, which are ideal for the meta Spade (Ace) unit, who is a huge DPS that focuses on DoT.

How To Get The Best Relics

Relics primarily drop from Story Mode, with higher rarity and better Relic stats dropping from more difficult stages.

The best Story Mode mission to complete for Relics currently is the Act 1 Ninja Forest on Nightmare Mode at 1000% difficulty. This game will be as difficult as it sounds, so I recommend attempting it after you have a decent team loadout.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What are Relics?
    • A: Relics act as an armour for your units, increasing their stats by a percentage, based on the rarity of the Relic you equip. For example, a unit can have an increase in crit chance, crit damage, range, attack, or lower cooldowns with an appropriate Relic.
  • Q: Can I mix and match Relics?
    • A: Yes, units can wear Relics from different sets; however, they won’t gain any Full Set Perks. Full Set Perks only apply when a unit is wearing a matching Relic set, which bumps the percentage of certain Relic traits when complete.
  • Q: How do I choose fitting Relics for my units?
    • A: Take a look at your unit’s preferred damage type, and then find a Relic that enhances that stat. For example, if your unit has an affinity for crit damage and crit chances, you’ll want to assign them a Relic that matches that.
  • Q: How do I unlock Nightmare Mode?
    • A: To unlock Nightmare Mode, you need to first complete the Normal and Hard stages of that act. Fortunately, you can do this on any difficulty metre setting, so you’re allowed to reduce it to 75% if need be.
  • Q: Do I have to stick to the best Relics?
    • A: Nope! Since all Units are unique, different sets may be better for them. The reason my guide focuses on the Ninja Sets as the best is that they’re very user-friendly to obtain and also powerful. You won’t need to spend monotonous hours grinding for a unit enhancement.
