The digital card game Shadowverse is preparing to shut down. First launched on iOS and Android in June 2016 and later on Steam in October 2016, the game is ending its decade-long run this year. It actually started as a spin-off of Rage of Bahamut.
Over time, the game expanded and added features such as Portalcraft, the Rotation and Unlimited formats, and game modes like Take Two and Cross Craft. Across its lifespan, more than 5,000 cards were released across 32 card sets.
The game included 20 story chapters featuring an original cast of characters. It also led to manga and anime adaptations, the Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle RPG, and a physical trading card version called Shadowverse: Evolve.
So, when is Shadowverse shutting down?
The official website confirmed that the game’s service will end on June 30th, 2026. The shutdown date arrives just a short time after the game reaches its 10th anniversary. The team published a complete schedule of the EOS.
Crystals will no longer be available for purchase after the March 24th maintenance update. But you’ll still be able to use any crystals you already own. At 7:00 p.m., March 31st, 2026 (PT), the Throwback Rotation card pool will reset and Battle Pass Season 23 will begin.
All players will receive the Premium Pass, and the Leader Card in Three-card pack bundles will also be removed from purchase. The game will officially reach its end of service at 7:00 p.m., June 30th, 2026 (PT). After that, you’ll no longer be able to link your accounts to Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.
Although the game has existed for 10 years, it has actually been in maintenance mode for a few years. The last few years felt more like the game was in a dormant state, with no new updates, events or quests.
Now that the original game is ending, the franchise will continue through Shadowverse: Evolve and the sequel Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.
