Limited Run Games and Whoopee Camp are bringing Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return back with a Special Edition. The revived platformer will arrive on PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam on December 15th for $19.99.

There have been some changes with the release of Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition

The newly announced Switch 2 edition will be a cross-buy option with the existing Switch version. Meanwhile, the previously promised PlayStation 4 release has been dropped entirely. It’s actually an unexpected adjustment for the project that was first announced in 2024.

Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return is a side-scrolling platform-adventure hybrid with role-playing elements. It’s presented through full 3D environments that guide movement along predetermined paths.

The Special Edition celebrates Tomba’s second outing. It originally appeared on PlayStation in Japan in 1999 before Sony Computer Entertainment handled the international launch the following year. Limited Run Games describes the re-release as a return to the game’s energetic, offbeat platforming.

In the game, the Evil Pigs have once again shown up to cause trouble in a nearby land. Tomba jumps straight into the sea without hesitation when he learns that his friend Tabby has gone missing. Catch a glimpse of the game below.

It will let you save anywhere instead of hunting for signposts, which were the original method for recording progress. A rewind option helps soften the sting of a missed jump or an unlucky hit, letting you attempt tricky moments again instead of restarting entire sections.

There’s also a museum mode that gathers classic packaging, manuals, advertisements, and merchandise photos. You’ll also find previously unseen design documents and high-resolution versions of the original artwork.

You can grab the game from the official website for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, or PC. It drops on December 15th.
